The palace was built in the then fashionable eclectic style, and a truly mature architectural decoration gives the building greatness and monumentality. Vladimirsky Palace in St. Petersburg still keeps a rich history associated with many famous names of Russian statesmen. Since January 31, 1920 the palace has been called the "House of Scientists". It was thanks to this that it was possible to preserve in its original form all the interiors of the palace, the splendor of the decorations of the ceremonial rooms, the grandeur of the grand duke's offices.
